UU in the Media: Army Wives

Posted By Melissa Bartell on August 4, 2009

It’s been all over sites like UU World, but in case you hadn’t heard, First Unitarian of Charleston was featured in the July 12th episode of the Lifetime TV show Army Wives.

In the episode, a woman about to re-deploy and her husband, a psychiatrist, choose the UU church to host their newborn daughter’s “welcome to the world” ceremony, because they like the message of community instead of creed.

The ceremony itself is quite lovely, and the actor playing the officiant, Michael O’Neill, should be familiar to anyone who was a fan of The West Wing. He played Ron Butterfield.

Note: the episode is only available online until August 13.
