129 08.29.10 – A Pistol in the Pulpit – Louisa May Alcott, Julia Ward Howe, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton chose Unitarian Theodore Parker as their minister. His congregation grew to 7,000. Always controversial and steadfast in his beliefs, his words influenced Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rev. Mark Walz delivered the sermon. (20:45)
