“… after all, we’re a church of humans. But my challenge to you, and to myself, is to respond to the inspiration of all those leaders – and to avoid their missteps.” – UUCOC Founding member, Elaine Wildman

Prayer can help us wrestle with the big questions and better understand our place in relation to the whole. But, still to whom or what do we pray? This is a question which comes up over and over. And Unitarian Universalists sometimes joke that we should begin our prayers with ‘to whom it may concern…’
“Shared ministry emerges from the notion of the priesthood of all believers. And it’s grounded in the early Christian tradition that everyone form the church bringing their individual gifts…each believer brought what they could.”

My challenge to us is to take apart our spiritual journeys, however they may look to us now and to put them back together again. Because the theological feeling is fluid as we live our lives and are impacted by the tragedies and joys of this life.
… because we are building a church based on not what you or I believe about the nature of God, we are building a church based upon how you and how I behave based on what we believe. But believe we must. It is from our belief system, our theologies, that we derive the strenght to trust this universe and our journeys through it.
