It's no secret there's been quite a bit of drama going on within the church. We need to find ways to move the church forward while honoring all congregants. There are resources that we have not yet tapped into and ways to change how things are governed. We attended a workshop on possible governance models at the beginning of my first term but got waylaid by the pandemic and focused on getting through that. As I said at the beginning of this term, I know many things need to change, but this is a year for me to back away and support the work rather than being the one doing it with the help of a few.

I can't promise we won't end up with another shutdown given the problems with the newer COVID variants headed this way. I am keeping my eye on what's happening in the Dallas area. It does seem to be milder, but more contagious. As you know, we were missing Scott Grey, our tech guru, this past Sunday, the 8th due to COVID. I'm happy to report the Grey family seems to be on the upward swing.

There will be a Workday Wednesday this week from 5:00-7:00 pm. While I don't know what Rebecca has planned, I do know there is continuing work to be done in Hope so Leah Pittmon can begin her chiropractic practice in that space beginning in February. It's also a good time to spend a couple of hours with fellow congregants in a more relaxed environment.
