UUCOC Sunday Service
Sunday, June 29, 2025
11:00am : 12:00pm
Reporting from the front lines and the College of Constructive Hell-Raising.
With special guests, Jessica Ramirez and David Carranza.

Jessica Ramirez is an activist and organizer, vice president of KNACW, first generation Mexican-American eldest daughter of immigrants, and a student majoring in sociology at UNT at Dallas. With David Carranza, they formed the non-profit Kleberg Neighborhood Association and Crime Watch (KNACW), and have made it their mission to speak out for those that can't or won't. Their community is located Southeast of Dallas, 15 minutes from downtown, and was annexed in the late 70's. Through their mission and revitalization efforts, they are working so their community will no longer be a forgotten part of the city.
David has taken a long history of entrepreneurship and activism and the lessons, tools, and confidence learned from The College of Constructive Hell-Raising to organize their neighbors more effectively, hold city leaders accountable, and push for change that’s been promised to Kleberg-Rylie for decades.
David, as President of the organization, and Jessica, as Vice President, use the organizing lessons from the College to fight for safer streets, clean parks, and long-term investment in a resilient neighborhood.
